Tomáš Vavřík

Jmenuji se Tomáš Vavřík. Věnuji se sochařství, šperku a malbě. V posledních letech se soustředím především na tvorbu soch a autorských šperků z drahých kamenů. Moje umělecká cesta ale začala mnohem dříve a vedla přes malbu, ilustraci, plastiku i tvorbu interiérů. Součástí této cesty byla pražská klubová scéna. Podílel jsem se na interiérech známých pražských klubů, včetně Chapeau Rouge, kde jsem nakonec skončil za barem. Právě tam jsem potkal řadu lidí, díky nimž se mi otevřely nové možnosti — včetně cesty do Indie, kde jsem v devadesátých letech strávil rok tvorbou nástěnných maleb. Moje obrazy dnes najdete v soukromých sbírkách po celém světě. Od rozměrných nástěnných maleb až po drobný šperk se v mé tvorbě mění měřítko i materiál. Zůstává však prostor pro hledání nových forem a osobní výraz. Dnes má v mé práci hlavní slovo kámen — jeho barva, struktura a možnosti, které nabízí pro vznik sochy nebo šperku. ***** My name is Tomáš Vavřík. I work across sculpture, jewelry and painting. In recent years, my focus has shifted towards sculptures and one-of-a-kind jewelry carved from gemstones. My artistic journey began much earlier, spanning painting, illustration, sculptural work and interiors. Prague’s club scene was part of that journey. I contributed to the interiors of well-known Prague clubs and also worked behind the bar at Chapeau Rouge. The people I met there opened doors to new experiences — including a journey to India, where I spent a year painting murals in the 1990s. Today, my paintings are held in private collections around the world. From large-scale murals to small pieces of jewelry, the scale and materials of my work have changed, while the exploration of form and personal expression continues. Stone now takes the leading role in my practice — its color, structure and the possibilities it offers for creating a sculpture or a piece of jewelry.
